The Fredericksburg Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas will be hosting an in-person presentation on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Gilbriar Gazebo, 208 Danos Dr.
Social gathering starts at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7 p.m. Guests and area newcomers are welcome.
“Join us to learn more about the delights of living with nature in the beautiful Texas Hill Country,” said president Paula Stone.
This month’s presentation is “Living off the land? Edibles and beneficial native plants,” by Kim Ort.
Ort will talk about some common and not-so-common edibles and beneficial plants and how to forage them responsibly.
After retiring from an engineering career in the technology industry, Ort joined the Texas Master Naturalists Hays County Chapter in 2011. Inspired by nature and a thirst for knowledge, Kim pursued a M.S. in wildlife ecology at Texas State University.
View live on Zoom or view recording later. Links will be posted both on the NPSOT website and Facebook group. The website is at https:// npsot.org/wp/fredericksburg.
“Chapter presentation videos are added each month with links to past videos on topics supporting the vision of valuing Texas native plants, native habitats, and healthy ecosystems as essential to the well-being of living things and to our quality of life,” said Stone.
“Anyone interested is invited to come learn and celebrate what Texas native plants are all about,” Stone said.
